ARIADNE training event aimed at presenting key aspects of the archaeological data management with a special focus on the current state of affairs in Austria. The event will be held at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Sitzungszimmer, Dr. Ignaz Seipel-Platz 2, 1010 Vienna.

The workshop is designed for archaeologists who are not specialists in informatics and will provide an introduction to:

• The current state of affairs in Austria and in Europe.
• Why we need special processes for archiving.
• Which data to archive and what to discard.
• What sort of equipment is needed.

The workshop will present good practices and case studies from Europe.

The workshop will be presented by Kate Fernie (PIN and 2Culture Associates) and Holly Wright (Archaeology Data Service, ADS).
