The 5th CMA4CH Mediterraneum Meeting (Multivariate Analysis and Chemometrics in Cultural Heritage) will take place this year in Rome, at La Sapienza University.
Multivariate analysis and chemometry are essential integrated approaches to the knowledge of the history of a cultural artifact, its constructive techniques, degradation, dating and origin.
At its fifth edition this meeting aims to build a bridge between researchers (and restorers) involved in the cultural heritage sector and chemometricians. The event will gather together theorists, researchers, professors and experts in the area of multivariate techniques. The overall goal is to increase the knowledge on the environment and of cultural artifacts.
Environmental conditions play a fundamental role in ageing or protecting cultural heritage. As a result, any study concerning restoration and/or conservation of cultural artifacts cannot be correctly carried out if environmental conservation issues are not considered.
